Scholastic Adventures Of Ben

We are considering putting Ben in a private school.  I know it sounds like I am bragging to make everyone think we are made of money.  In actuality I am running a money scheme through my head.

I'm thinking about Sally Struthers kind of thing, where you help contribute to his tuition.  In exchange you will get a picture of your Ben to hang on your refrigerator along with a dictated letter (or mp3 file of him talking) for you.

Periodically you can get updates from your Ben so you can keep track of how he is doing.  Report cards and photos. (If you miss a payment you may get a box with a code brown in it ;) ).

For less that the payment of a luxurious home, you can make a difference in an autistic kid's life.

(Or you could just send cases of beer and he can play X-Box all day while I drink!)

Brains I Hunger For

I swear this is not my leg... yet.
Yes. Yes that is a zombie Yoda.  Apparently "The Force" isn't as great as it's made out to be.

Special Needs Ryan Gosling

I have failed to give Sunday Stilwell over at Adventures in Extreme Parenthood the blog love she deserves.  She is funny, has a couple of wonderful young boys who happen to be on the spectrum and she is the creator of Special Needs Ryan Gosling.

In other words I should HATE HER! DESPISE HER! Burn with the seething jealousy and frustration at night that keeps me from sleeping and keeps my shrink in business.

If you only follow one blog this month, follow hers.  She is funny and an inspiration and, she makes me laugh.

Yeah I'm Biased...

How bout that.
Yeah, I'm biased.  Regardless, I like the idea of the Surface Tablet.  The way I view it is Surface will bring new ideas to the tablet market and force Android and Apple to improve and grow.  In turn Microsoft will improve and grow.

This is how a free market economy works.

You bet your dog I'm going to get one as soon as I can.

An Important Question

Strip Club Crab asks the important question!

Reaching Out For Resources

Hi Gang!

I need to throw this out there and see what resources I can get together.

As everyone knows, I am a tech support dweeb and have been for going on 14 years now. I feel it's time for a change and I need help.

First off, who has made the jump and who can tell me what it was like for them. I don't know that I would be good in sales specifically because I don't BS people. I tell them like it is and go from there.

Secondly, I see a REAL NEED for people to help train folks in dealing with their Autistic kids and schools. Specifically I would like to open a school for Autistic kids. While I know it would seem as if I have lost my mind because I am looking to bring in kids who no one else in the school system wants to deal with, these kids are getting lost in the shuffle. My son is being home schooled, but THE WIFE is overwhelmed with his meds, Dr Appointments etc... Not to mention the other three kids she is watching out for.

Mainly, who can tell me how to begin a charter school in Texas?

I know someone who peeks here now and then must know someone who knows someone. If so, please shoot them my way. houstonkeys(at)hotmail(dot)com.

Thanks and prayers are appreciated.
